Taxi Fleet Tracking: See Every Cab and Check Every Trip

Live cab location, trip records, driver safety and vehicle service for taxi and ride hailing fleets, on one self-hosted platform.

Taxi fleet tracking is software that shows where every cab is and keeps a record of every trip it made. It puts the whole fleet on one live map, so the office knows which cars are working and which are parked. It saves the route, distance and time of each trip, which settles arguments about fares and driver pay. It flags hard driving and long shifts, and books service by real distance driven. AIQ Connect runs on your own server, and the license is a one-time cost, so adding cabs never raises your software bill.

Trip Records You Can Check

Every trip is saved with its route, distance and time. When a rider says the driver took the long way, or a driver questions how a shift was paid, you open the trip and look. Most of those arguments end in under a minute once someone can see the map.

  • Route saved for every trip
  • Distance and time per trip

Long nights, tired drivers

Driver Habits and Long Shifts

Cabs run late nights and long shifts, and that is when tired driving shows up. Speeding, hard braking and sharp turns are all flagged, and you can see how long each driver has been out. Software cannot stop a crash. It can show a risky habit early, while you can still talk to the driver.

  • Speeding and hard braking flags
  • Hours on the road per driver
  • A simple score you can share
  • Night driving reports

Service, Fuel and Uptime

A cab in the workshop earns nothing all day. Service is booked on real distance driven, not on a rough guess, and you get a warning before a job falls due. Fuel use is tracked per car, and idle time is shown, which is where the quiet waste usually sits.

  • Service booked by real distance
  • Warnings before service is due
  • Fuel use per car
  • Repair history for each cab

Self-Hosted vs Cloud Taxi Fleet Tracking

FAQs

Taxi Fleet Tracking, Common Questions

What is taxi fleet tracking?
Taxi fleet tracking is software that shows where every cab is and keeps a record of every trip it made. AIQ Connect maps the fleet and saves the route, distance and time of each trip. It flags hard driving and long shifts, and books service by real distance driven. It runs on your own server, with no monthly fee for each cab.
Is this a booking or dispatch app?
No, and it is worth being clear about that. AIQ Connect is the tracking layer. It does not take bookings, match riders to drivers, or handle payments. Many fleets run a booking app for the customer side and a tracking platform for the vehicles, because the two answer different questions. If you need booking software, this is not it.
Can it settle an argument about a route or a fare?
Yes, in most cases. Every trip is saved with the road the car actually took, the distance covered and the time it took. When a rider says the driver went the long way round, you open that trip and see the map. The same record answers a driver who thinks a shift was paid short.
Do drivers need to be told they are tracked?
Yes, in most places, and it is the sensible thing to do anyway. Rules on tracking a working driver differ by country and by city, and they change. Check what applies where you operate and put it in the driver agreement. We can give you the technical facts about what the system records. The wording of your agreement is a question for your own lawyer.
Does it work if drivers own or rent their own cars?
Yes, as long as a tracking device is fitted to the car and you have the driver's agreement in place. Owner-driver and rent-a-cab fleets are common, and the platform treats each car as its own asset. What changes is the paperwork, not the software, so agree with drivers up front what is recorded and why.
Is it self-hosted?
Yes. AIQ Connect runs on your own server, so trip records, driver details and shift history never sit with a cloud vendor. You pay a one-time license instead of monthly per-cab fees, which means adding cabs never raises your software bill. The platform is white-label, so it carries your logo and your domain.
